For young and old

During the Zeehavendagen (Seaport Days Amsterdam), ports and companies in Amsterdam, Zaanstad, Velsen-IJmuiden and Beverwijk open their doors. There is also plenty to do on Java Island, the IJhaven, and at the Passenger Terminal in Amsterdam.

You can join guided tours of port companies, shipyards and storage terminals. Museums such as the Maritime Museum and the Waste Energy Company (AEB) also participate in a special program.

Future of shipping

This year, the focus is on the future of shipping. You will learn how the sector is switching to electric and hybrid sailing and how ports work on a circular economy. In the Hydrogen Inspirience, Port of Amsterdam will show hydrogen's role in the energy transition.

The program

The central program on Java Island and the IJhaven starts on Thursday, June 13, with a technology day for primary schools and a student hackathon. On Friday, June 14, and Saturday, June 15, customs, navy, and nautical service providers, among others, will demonstrate on the water. Prefer to stay on shore? The demonstrations can also be followed from the quay.
