Music and the Walloon Church belong together. We dare to say that there is no more magical place to enjoy music. At almost all concerts, the audience takes a seat around the soloist or the company and the sublime acoustics do their work. Whether it concerns old music or a contemporary sound, emerging national talent or international top artists, the church offers a serene environment in the middle of bustling Amsterdam.

In addition to individual concerts, the Waalse Kerk has various series in its programming. The Bösendorfer Piano Series has become an indispensable part of the Waalse Kerk and of Amsterdam's concert life. In this series of piano recitals, nationally and internationally acclaimed pianists shine behind our Bösendorfer Imperial Grand grand piano. In addition, the Couleur Vocale series returns annually; a series for Amsterdam choirs and vocal ensembles, and of course for lovers of vocal music from all over the country.

Located in the heart of Amsterdam, the historic Waalse Kerk offers a unique setting for a variety of private events. From business meetings to intimate celebrations, and from conferences to dinners: we adapt our versatile spaces to your needs. With a capacity of 300 guests in the standard setup, the church is perfect for large events. But also for more intimate dinners and symposia, our location offers the ideal setting. The Consistoire, an elegant space, is suitable for 30 to 40 guests (standing), but can also serve as an impressive meeting location, lunch spot or dinner spot for up to 24 people.

Church service

The origins of the Walloon Church in Amsterdam date back to 1409, when it served as a chapel for the Paulusbroederklooster. After the Alteration of 1578, the church was transferred to the French-speaking Protestant refugees from the Southern Netherlands and has been a Protestant church ever since. The Walloon Church of Amsterdam is part of the Protestant Churches in the Netherlands (PKN) and works closely with the Walloon Church in Haarlem.

Every Sunday morning at 11:00 there is a church service in De Waalse Kerk in Amsterdam. The service is usually in French, but sometimes also bilingual (French/Dutch).
